26 June 2023 Awareness Raising
Members of the MND Association’s Next Generation Think Tank put down their thinking caps and put on their bike helmets last week for an epic 100km cycle to raise awareness of MND.
The 20-strong group set off from Manchester and cycled down to Derby on Friday 23 June to mark Global MND Awareness Day, which took place on 21 June.
The start and finish line of the MND 100 Ride were of significance to the Think Tank, which counts technology giants Dell, Intel and Google among its ranks. The cyclists departed from Market Street’s EE store in recognition of a tech support project for people with MND which is currently in development. Several hours later, the weary cyclists received rapturous applause as they finished the challenge at the headquarters of Rolls Royce in Derby, which is the workplace of their Head of IT Innovation, Stuart Moss.
Stuart, whose father Brian died of MND in 2014, co-founded the Think Tank in 2019 alongside the MND Association. The Think Tank aims to bring together the greatest minds in technology to develop innovative technology solutions to improve the lives of people living with MND. Members of the Think Tank have been responsible for developing award-winning products, including the voice banking e-book I Will Always Be Me.
