Welcome to the Black Country Group
The Black Country Group of the Motor Neurone Disease Association supports those living with MND, their families and carers across the Black Country boroughs of Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley and Wolverhampton.
We are a volunteer led group who provide a warm welcome and friendship to offer information, advice and support. We also campaign for improved local services for people with MND and fundraise for essential money to provide local support and to fund research into finding treatments and a cure for MND.
The MND Association’s monthly support meetings are held every month in two different locations:
The Black Country MND Support Group is held at the Mary Stevens Hospice, 221 Hagley Road, Stourbridge, DY8 2JR, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, on the 2nd Monday of the month. Remaining dates for 2026:
11th May; 8th June; 13th July; 10th August; 14th September; 12th October; 9th November; 14th December
Chrissie's Club - MND Support Group is held at Darkhouse Baptist Church Hall, Darkhouse Lane, Bilston, WV14 8XH, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, usually on the 4th Monday of every month. Remaining dates for 2026:
18th May; 22nd June; 27th July; 24th August; 28th September; 26th October; 23rd November
We warmly welcome all people living with MND, their carers and families to join us at these meetings. They are very informal and enable you to meet others living with MND in a relaxed and friendly setting and to share experiences over a cup of tea or coffee. Invited speakers may also sometimes attend to provide information, this will be advertised ahead of a meeting.
Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been living with MND for some time, and whether you decide to pop along for 10 minutes or stay and chat for the whole two hours, you will be very welcome at either meeting, or both!
If you would like to find out more about the Black Country Group's activities and how you can help or just want some further information, then please don’t hesitate to contact:
