We're glad you've decided to share your story with us. Bringing your lived experience to life through the power of storytelling means we can raise awareness of MND, highlight available support, and help others feel less alone. It can be used to educate, inspire and create change. Whether your story is featured in the media, included in a campaign, or one of our publications, we're here with you every step of the way.
When sharing or being asked to share my story by the MND Association, I have the right to:
Collaborate and contribute.
I have control over when, where, and how my story is shared while granting ongoing consent for its use unless agreed otherwise.
Pursue excellence.
I can seek guidance before and after accepting invitations, referrals, or similar engagements to help me feel comfortable and confident.
Respect and understanding.
I will review and edit my story before giving consent to ensure it is in my own words and accurately reflects my experiences.
Open and transparent relationships.
I expect a safe environment when I speak, creating open and transparent relationships that support our collective aims.
When the MND Association asks you to share your story, we promise to:
Collaborate and value contributions.
We encourage and promote a wide spectrum of experiences, ensuring your unique contribution is respected and valued.
Achieve excellence.
We will authentically capture the MND experience while ensuring accuracy and honesty when sharing your story.
Be transparent.
We will be open when asking you to share your story, so you are clear about expectations and goals, encouraging honest and transparent relationships.
Respect and respond.
We request consent to store and share your story with a commitment to adhere to the usage agreement made upon sharing your story, respecting and responding to your needs, background and views. We respectfully honour your right to opt-out at any point.
Offer support and training.
We provide support before, during and after the story sharing process and offer training, if required, to support commitment and ongoing improvement.
Uphold values.
We will stay faithful to our Storytellers Bill of Rights, ensuring all practises align with our core values by collaborating, valuing contributions, achieving excellence, respecting, and responding to diversity, and building open relationships.
