Welcome to the Gloucestershire Branch

The branch is run entirely by volunteers who aim to provide the best possible support to those affected by MND in our county. We provide support by:

  • Helping local people who have MND, their families and carers via personal support, online support, support groups and more.
  • Raising awareness of MND on a local and national level.
  • Developing fundraising activities as a branch and assisting you with your fundraising efforts.
  • Promoting news, events and other information that makes all our work possible.

We warmly welcome your input to these aims. Please contact us with your news, your activities or your ideas.

Don't let the Branch lose out

If you wish to make Funeral Donations to the Gloucestershire Branch of the MND Association, ensure you inform the Funeral Directors or your donation may go directly to the National Office of the MND Association.

If you would simply like to make a donation to the Gloucestershire Branch we have our own dedicated JustGiving page.

Pain in the ALS Golf Day

The Annual Pain in the ALS Golf Day .. continuing the legacy Mike Crisp began..  took place in early September for its 7th year.
35 teams took part and a staggering £21800 was raised and is shared between MND Glos and Pain in the ALS  - helping families in Gloucestershire living with MND
A fantastic day was had and the sun shone! Huge thanks goes to Brickhampton Golf Complex.

Becky Crisp (Mikes wife) and Event Organiser said ‘ I am overwhelmed each year how the support continues and the fun had! We’ve raised a considerable amount this year and we will continue to bang the drum in getting awareness out there and much needed funds raised’

The Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Wheelchair Alliance are both working to improve user’s wheelchair experience so please look at these two posters and consider whether you want to contact either organisation. If is important to raise wheelchair related issues with the Gloucestershire Wheelchair Service in the first instance. Your stories are important to allow both organisations to do their work. If you are unsure, speak to your AV or email [email protected].

Could you be an Association Visitor (AV)

Do you enjoy listening to and helping people? Are you looking for a volunteering role where you can do just that and fit it in around your family, studies or other commitments.

By becoming an Association Visitor (AV), you can make a real difference to the lives of people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

MND Association visitors in Gloucestershire offer confidential, emotional support and accurate information to people with MND, their families and carers helping them to access the right services and equipment. These trained volunteers act as a point of contact for people living with MND, staying in touch by phone, email or face to face.

Join our local team and make new friends - use your existing skills and learn new ones!

If you are interested in becoming an Association Visitor, please contact the Volunteering Team on 01604 611681 or email [email protected] to request an information pack, which includes an application form.

Fundraising and raising awareness are also an important part of branch activities. we organise a number of events throughout the year which are well supported.

Additionally we are very fortunate to be assisted by a number of individuals and organisations within the region. They raise money for use by the branch to help people living with MND or to help fund research into MND to learn more about the disease and help to find treatments. Every event held helps spread the word about MND and raise people's understanding of what it means to live with MND.
