King's College, London
King’s Motor Neuron Disease (MND) Care and Research Centre in London is a national centre of excellence for the diagnosis and care of people with MND.
And with 32 researchers working across 20 separate projects at King’s right now, it’ll probably come as no surprise that the MND Association funds more work there than at any other research institute.
The team is led by Professor Ammar Al-Chalabi, Professor of Neurology and Complex Disease Genetics, and a leading light in MND research.
His team combines clinical expertise with research knowhow, offering the ultimate holistic view of MND.
But knowing that working on a single condition in isolation is rarely the best way to make breakthroughs, the department also treats patients with other motor nerve disorders, and works with specialists worldwide to make sure it is always up-to-date.
With its pioneering processes, including weekly MND clinics, and its state-of-the art research facilities, King’s is playing a crucial role in finding a cure for MND.
