Promise 3 - Brain

Work with us, because every day with MND counts.

MND has a devastating impact both on those diagnosed, and those who look after and love them. We'll continue to support people’s quality of life, every day they need us. And we will work with global tech leaders to deliver accessible technology so people with MND stay connected.

We know how precious time is. We want to do everything we can to make sure that anyone and everyone living with or affected by MND has the best possible quality of life. Whether living with MND, caring for a family member or friend, or closely connected to someone with MND, we'll draw from your experiences, suggestions, and ideas as we work together to make our collective ambitions a reality.

See yourself reflected in our images

We're on a mission to showcase the true spirit of the MND community. We believe it's important to represent the MND community as accurately as possible, and we know that the best way to do this is through imagery and photographs. That's why we're inviting you to share your photographs with us.

We want to see you out and about, enjoying life with your family, friends, fellow Association members, or local branch or group members. We believe that sharing pictures of real people with MND living their lives to the fullest will help to break down the stigma associated with the condition.

We'd love to see some images of you wearing Association-branded clothing, but any pictures that showcase your spirit and zest for life are welcome. Bonus points if your pets are in Association-branded colours too! Don't worry, we'll ensure to contact you before using any photos you share with us.

By sharing your photographs with us, you're helping us to create a more accurate representation of the MND community. We want to showcase the incredible strength, resilience, and spirit people living with and affected by MND. Your images will help us to do just that.

Ideas to get you started

Make today count

There are many ways we can make today count. From doing an activity we love such as getting outside to listening to our favourite song at full blast. It's about what works for you and what makes you feel good.

You could try one of the following to get you started...

Make contact with a loved one - if your communication isn't at it's best right now, why not ask a family member or Association Visitor to help you write a letter?

Share a joke with a stranger - knock knocks, one-liners, good puns... spread some joy.

Appreciating beauty - is the sun shining today? Have birds been visiting your garden?

And don't forget - each day is different. There is absolutely no pressure on making your day meaningful today. Do what works for you.

Success stories

I Will Always Be Me

A first-of-its-kind e-book which banks people's voices as they read the story aloud was launched earlier this year after collaboration with tech giants Rolls-Royce, Dell, and Intel.

I Will Always Be Me is dedicated to the memory of Brian Moss, who died of MND in 2014. His son Stuart, Head of IT Innovation at Rolls Royce, was compelled to help better the lives of other people affected by MND.

Michael, who is living with MND, was able to trial the book in his home ahead of the launch in February 2022:

Michael - I Will Always Be Me

“When I was diagnosed with MND I decided I can sit back and feel sorry for myself, or I can do something positive to help others. Being involved in I Will Always Be Me was absolutely brilliant – my family were there to support me, and we all had a fun day. I’m hoping this project will lead to a much better understanding and awareness of MND, not just for families and friends, but for the general public as well.”

This really is a shining example of how we can change lives for the better when we work together.
