Although we know what the population of every single local authority area looked like at the time of the 2021 Census and have a good idea of what things look like on the ground, this is no substitute for living in an area and knowing its look and feel.
This exciting new initiative builds on the work that we are doing around community engagement to equip groups, branches and volunteers to extend our reach into different communities that we currently do not reach or whose members do not currently engage with us.
We all know that MND does not discriminate. People from the BAME and LGBTQIA+ communities, Muslims, Hindus, Jews and Buddhists are just as likely to get it as White British, straight Christians, Humanists and Atheists. However, we do not see that diversity reflected amongst people who use our services or who volunteer with us.
