The Motor Neurone Disease Association is saddened by the news that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96.
A message of condolence will be sent to our Royal Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, in acknowledgement of Her Majesty’s many years of service to the country, Commonwealth and hundreds of charities.
Our services will remain available for people living with and affected by motor neurone disease (MND), but out of respect we will be pausing activity on our social media accounts for a short period.
Sally Light, Chief Executive of the MND Association said: “As a charity that works with terminally ill people we know that, however expected a death may be, there is always a sense of shock when the moment finally comes. Her Majesty The Queen gave unfailing and dedicated service to her country, many charities and the wider Commonwealth over so many years. We have been very fortunate to have Her Majesty as our Queen and we offer our sincere condolences to the Royal Family.”
