On 18 March, the Department for Work and Pensions published a set of proposals to make changes to disability benefits in the UK in The Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working Green Paper.
Other proposals for change were then made in the Chancellor Rachel Reeves' Spring Statement on 26 March.
The Government has announced a 12-week consultation on some of the reforms but has specified that it will not be deliberating on certain parts of the plans.
Our Policy team has analysed the Green Paper in detail and compiled a briefing document outlining our position on the proposals and what they may mean for the MND community.
Disability benefits provide essential support for people living with MND to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
For that reason, we will engage closely with the reforms, focusing on doing everything we can to ensure that nobody affected by MND misses out on the support they need.
