The inside story of Kevin Sinfield’s epic 7 in 7 in 7 challenge is now available to watch in an exclusive documentary, which launches today (6 May 2024).
The creators, RAM Films, were given unprecedented access during and after the challenge to capture the efforts of MND Association patron Kevin Sinfield CBE and his team, joining them every step of the way as they ran seven ultra marathons in seven days across seven cities.
The behind-the-scenes footage captures a number of heartwarming moments, including the special moment where Rob Burrow CBE saw Kevin and the team off at the start line. Fellow Association patron Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) in 2019, just two years after retiring from a glittering rugby league career.
The film also sees Rob and Kevin’s former team-mate Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE sit down with the MND Association’s Director of Research Development Dr Brian Dickie MBE, and Professor Dame Pamela Shaw to ask how crucial fundraising is when it comes to research and drugs trials.
The documentary is available to watch on the Super League Plus website as a pay-per-view option, with the aim of adding to Kevin’s fundraising total of more than £1 million for the challenge.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be able to offer our production of Kevin’s latest challenge via Super League Plus. The challenge for us personally year on year is how to maximise awareness and more importantly raise funds to help as much as we can in the battle against MND. By offering viewers the pay-per-view option we get the opportunity to give viewers an in-depth look behind the scenes at what it takes to complete a challenge like this whilst contributing the lion’s share directly to Kevin’s fundraising total and we’re extremely proud to be able to do so.”
