A survey study investigating the use of communication aids

The purpose of this study is to explore the everyday realities of people who use communication aids, also known as augmentative and alternative communication (ACC), and their experience of accessing related services such as speech and language therapy, charities and the NHS. To do this, the researchers have created online surveys for people who use ACC and their communication partners, to allow them to share their experiences at their own pace.

Taking Part

What does taking part involve?

People who take part will complete as much or as little of the online survey as they want to. You can leave any questions you don’t wish to answer. On average, the survey should take around 30 minutes to complete.

Who can take part?

  • People living with MND who use ACC. This includes a range of communication aids including gestures, signing, pen and paper, communication boards or voice output communication technology.
  • Communication partners of people living with MND who use ACC

How can I take part?
