An interview study to explore how changes in behaviour caused by MND affect quality of life

Previous studies into changes in behaviour in MND have mostly focussed on the effect on caregivers, but there is little research on the experiences of people living with MND themselves. This study will directly ask people with MND about their experiences of behavioural changes and how this affects their wellbeing and quality of life. The researchers will interview people living with MND who have experienced changes in their behaviour, encouraging them to share their personal stories and perspectives. The researchers hope to find shared themes in people’s experiences.

Taking Part

What does taking part involve?

You will be asked to complete an online screening questionnaire. If you are unable to complete the questionnaire online, you can email the researchers and they will send you a word document version. You will then be contacted by the researchers to let you know if you meet the criteria for the study. If you are eligible, the researchers will arrange a convenient time and date for you to be interviewed. The interview will last 1-2 hours. People who take part will be invited to review the researcher’s findings and conclusions at the end of the study (estimated October 2025) and give their reflections.

Who can take part?

People living with MND who have experienced changes in their behaviour.
