Investigating the current methods of assessment and management of cough and secretion issues in MND
This study is a preliminary part of a larger piece of work looking at harnessing technology to optimise cough and secretion management in people with MND. This study aims to gather the views of healthcare professionals who manage people with cough and secretion management issues.
It is split into two parts:
- A UK wide online survey targeting healthcare professionals at any point in the care pathway who support patients with cough and secretion issues.
- Face to face and virtual focus groups with healthcare professionals who recommend, support or deliver cough and secretion management strategies to people with MND.
Participants can take part in one or both parts of the study.
The information gathered in this study will be taken forward to inform and support co-design of a tool, harnessing technology, to support cough and secretion management in MND.
Taking Part
What does taking part involve?
Participants will be asked to complete an online survey about the care that they deliver to people with MND who have cough and secretion problems. The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete and each completed survey will be entered into a draw to win a £50 voucher.
They can also take part in the focus groups which will be available either face-to-face or virtually. Travel to the focus group, if attending face-to-face, will be reimbursed.
Who can take part?
