Help to design a study to understand how to better support people living with MND in decision-making

People living with MND make many decisions about their care and treatment. Previous research has identified challenges in engaging people with MND in these discussions. The researchers want to better understand what enables and prevents people with MND taking part in decision making. These findings will be used to develop interventions to empower people living with MND to take part in discussions about their care. This will give them more control over how they choose to live with MND.

Taking Part

What does taking part involve?

There will be two online and one in-person meeting (in Sheffield), each lasting 1-2 hours. The meetings will explore how best to address the issue of involving people with MND in discussions about their care, and how best to test and implement any interventions identified. The in-person meeting will discuss continued involvement in the research as it progresses. People who take part in these meetings will be reimbursed for their time and travel expenses by the researchers for a value of £25 per meeting.

Who can take part?

  • People living with MND
  • Caregivers of people living with MND
