Welcome to the West Yorkshire Branch
The Branch is run by friendly, experienced and dedicated volunteers who aim to provide the best possible support to local people with MND including families and carer's. We do not have a central base of operation, instead we hold our relaxed and informal meetings in various venues around the region, see Latest News below. Please don't hesitate to contact us should you need any help or advice.

Social Get Togethers - Second Wednesday Each Month (expand for more details)
Come along and join this relaxed get together with some like-minded people for a cuppa and a chat. All welcome and we'd love to see you on the second Wednesday of every month. Note time change to 1-3pm from February 2025 onwards. Please ring Michelle Malouf on 01604 800 619 or Branch Contact Jackie Johnson on 07855 424354 for more information. Each month the venue changes so please keep an eye out for the monthly location.

Time: 1.00 – 3.00pm
Location: Normanton Golf Club, Hatfield Hall, Aberford Road, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF3 4JP. Take junction 30 M62, then the A642 towards Wakefield, carry on for one & three quarter miles all the way to the golf course. The golf course is on the righthand side of the A642 immediately following the bends after the turn off at 'Ferry Lane'

Info: There is the disabled/accessible car park which is Gate B on St.Michael’s Lane (the gatehouse with the barrier) and the security guard will give directions from there. On arrival at this carpark they will accommodate you in any way they can. If this car park is full then car parks E and F (just a bit further down the street) will be available.
Carers Group - First Wednesday Each Month (expand for more details)
All current carers are warmly welcome to join.
Occurrence: First Wednesday of the month
Time: 10am - 12pm

Cornflower Group - Peer Support Group for Bereaved Carers (expand for more details)
Have you been a carer for someone with MND? You are welcome to come along to this friendly peer support group and be among others who are also bereaved. Time for a cuppa and short walk if you want. This is not counselling, it's a friendly and supportive space to have a chat and a listen.
Date: Note - From February 2025 we will return to the last Wednesday of each month
Time: 1-3pm

Volunteering for the branch
New Volunteers are always needed to help with fundraising, campaigning or providing direct support to people with and affected by MND. Also needed are volunteers to help administrate our busy social media sites or to organise a campaign. Training will be provided.
