Welcome to the Portsmouth and South East Hants Group
This group covers Portsmouth, Gosport, Havant, Petersfield, and the surrounding areas with a PO postcode.
The group is run entirely by volunteers and aims to provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families, and carers.
The Portsmouth Group is a small group that provides support to people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). We are made up of an Area Support Coordinator and 4 Support Volunteers who are able to provide you with emotional and practical support from diagnosis. We are there for you in an informal capacity to ensure you are getting the right support at the right time as well as being able to listen to your concerns and worries.
We provide a monthly Check-in and Chat group at the Living Well Centre in Purbrook on the second Friday of each month 11:30 to 13:15. You would be most welcome to join us to meet others who are also trying to get their head around the diagnosis.
“So pleased I attended the group, I was apprehensive but everyone was so welcoming and I met others from similar backgrounds so we had lots to talk about and not just about MND”
The support volunteers can keep you up to date on what’s happening within the MND Association and the financial and practical support that’s on offer.
You are not alone so please contact us.
