Malpractice and fraud are unusual but, if they occur, can be extremely damaging to the Association in terms of both financial loss and the harm that can be done to our reputation. It can also be distressing and create anxiety for those who suspect something is amiss.
Malpractice includes fraud (eg using the Association's name to raise funds that are not paid over either centrally or locally); financial mismanagement; improper use of our resources; or breaches of Health and Safety or charity law. It also includes behaviour that is contrary to our policies, such as Confidentiality and Data Protection.
We are committed to maintaining an honest, open and well-intentioned atmosphere and to the elimination of any fraud or malpractice within the organisation.
We encourage anyone with reasonable suspicions of fraud or malpractice to report them.
